VEHICLE TRANSPORTATION POLICY

A child may be transported in a vehicle when he/she is going on a field trip. If a parent decides that their child is not to be transported by any persons other than themselves, the parent will arrange transportation for their child or find alternate care for their child if the field trip involves the entire group.

Every parent must provide a car seat for their child.

Every parent who drives on a field trip must provide the daycare with a copy of their car insurance.

St. James Daycare shall ensure that a “Special Excess Third Party Legal Liability Party” is purchased on a yearly basis. This is to protect employees and volunteers on behalf of the named insured when driving vehicles owned by themselves but not owned by the names insured. A copy of this special coverage can be shown to volunteer drivers upon request. The centre also carries public liability insurance in the amount of 5,000,000 in the case of injury to the children.

Welcome to our daycare! We hope you find this package useful and informative. Please keep all the policies for your records, and return all the forms to us on your child’s first day. Feel free to make a copy of the Daycare Services Agreement to refer to at home, and return a signed copy to us for your child’s file. Please note that we need all four emergency cards filled out (front and back), so we can keep them in four different places in the daycare in case of emergency.
