A Brief History of St. James Day Care

St. James Day Care Center Society was incorporated in 1970 by the St. James United Church. It is one of the oldest day cares in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver.

In 1977, responsibility for running the day care shifted from the Church to the parents. We are now a parent-run, non-profit Day Care Society.

St. James Day Care is inspected and licensed by the Community Care Licensing Board. We care for up to 25 pre-kindergarten children who are over the age of 3.
