Release of Children from the Facility

Release of Children from the Facility

Children can only be released to the legal guardians or people authorized in advance by the parent or guardian. Please let us know in advance if someone other than a legal guardian is coming to pick up your child. (If you have not already informed the daycare, we will contact the legal guardian for confirmation.) We will always ask for identification before releasing your child to someone we have not met, and we will never release your child to an unauthorized person.

If the person picking up a child appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, we will not release the child. We will contact other persons on the list and if the person attempting to leave with the child becomes argumentative, we may call 911.

If there is a custody agreement and/or a schedule for the parents pick up days, please make sure that the daycare has a copy on file. If only one parent is allowed to pick the child up from the daycare, it must be legally documented, and on file. If the custody agreement is not on file, we are able to release the child to either parent. In cases where both parents will be picking the child up from daycare, the custody agreement will be signed and dated by both parents. Both parents will be responsible for updating the daycare in writing of any changes to the custody agreement.
