Active Play Policy

Children attending St. James Daycare will have a minimum of two hours of active play per day. Most of the active play will be supervised free play.

There will be access to sports equipment on a daily basis including hockey, soccer, hula hoops and bicycles.

Injury prevention is a very important part of our daycare program. Children will be taught how to keep themselves safe.

Children will be encouraged on a daily basis to be active, realizing that physical activity is a very important part of their growth and development.

Teachers will be aware that children should have short bursts of activity during inside play time.
